The prices of both AMD Ryzen 5000X3D & 7000X3D “3D V-Cache” CPUs are rising continuously, making them expensive in almost all parts of the world.
AMD Ryzen 5800X3D & Ryzen 7800X3D “3D V-Cache” CPUs see a significant surge in prices and poor availability than usual
A few days ago while checking for some great CPU deals, I saw that the Ryzen 7800X3D was going out of stock at a few retailers, including Amazon. Even on other retail websites such as Newegg, the price of the Ryzen 7800X3D looked too high compared to previous months. Even though the processor was launched at $449, it used to cost under $400 due to fierce competition.
At the time of writing, the AMD Ryzen 7800X3D is retailing at $479 on Amazon and a whopping $699 on Newegg. The same trend is seen in Europe where the price of the Ryzen 7800X3D has seen a sharp rise in recent weeks. As per Geizhals, the price for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has touched €429, which is the highest since last year.

In the past 12 months, the processor hasn’t gone beyond €380 but since the end of August, the price seems to be going upwards continuously. The same trend can be seen with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU based on the Zen 3 architecture. The 5800X3D has been always below €330 in the past 12 months no matter what but for the first time the CPU touched a whopping €643.

The price did comeback to just over €350 but it’s still the highest this year has seen. Thankfully, other Ryzen X3D processors didn’t see such a price increase. Yes, there are cases where you will find the higher-end Ryzen X3D processors quite pricier than usual but they go back close to their MSRPs after a while. However, the availability of the Ryzen 7900X3D and Ryzen 7950X3D CPUs are affected and the CPUs don’t always remain in stock.
As per Gheizals, the prices for both processors have remained low in the past few weeks in Europe and that’s mostly because these two aren’t in such a huge demand as the 7800X3D. Thankfully, other mid-range and budget offerings aren’t that expensive. For instance, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D continues to be sold for under $200 on Amazon and around $200 on Newegg. This is over a $50 price cut on its original MSRP.
The processor is also abundant in the EU region for a fairly good price. The continuous rise in the prices of Ryzen 5800X3D and 7800X3D might be due to poor availability as AMD’s focus might be on its Zen 5 X3D chips, including its Ryzen 9800X3D CPU, which is supposedly launching this month.
Given that the recent Intel and AMD launches have failed to attract gamers attention, the existing and upcoming Ryzen 3D V-Cache parts are likely go become even more popular and continue selling like hot cakes. AMD and its partners will have to work on regulating the prices in various regions to ensure that customers get the most value from their purchases.
